Joe Czettisch

Joe Czettisch passed away on April 24th, 2022 in Delta, BC at the age of
84. Joe suffered from dementia, however he will be fondly remembered as
he was prior to the disease overtaking him.
Joe was born in 1937 to Hungarian immigrants Mike and Luisa Czettisch
in Flin Flon, MB. He grew up and spent his life in Flin Flon until moving to
British Columbia to be closer to family in 2018. Joe was a carpenter at
HBM&S for 39 years until his retirement in 1993. In July 1965 he married
Orla Scott also of Flin Flon.
Joe spent most of his time at “The Lake” his place on Blondie’s Beach,
Bakers Narrows. He was always puttering around the yard and building or
fixing something. In retirement Joe picked up his mother’s green thumb
and enjoyed gardening. Joe and Orla travelled with friends to winter in
Arizona, Texas or British Columbia for many years.
Joe is survived by wife Orla, sons Brent (Gail) and Jason (Sharon) with
grandchildren Sam, Sophie, Ella and Riley; sister Louise Huston, brotherin-
law John Scott (Nadine), niece Amy, and nephews Andrew, Alex, Ian
and David. He joins his parents and brother Ken Czettisch who predeceased
him.
A ceremony in Joe’s memory will be held at a later date.
