Gerry Fladager
Gerry, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend , and devoted photographer, passed away peacefully after a long and full life on May 1 2026 . He was 95 years old just shy of 96 on May 8.
Born and raised with a spirit of independence, Gerry moved to Flin Flon with his family in 1965 and made Princess Blvd his home for many decades. He lived with a steady sense of purpose, remaining active and engaged in the community he cherished.
An avid golfer for many years, Gerry volunteered at the local golf course and mentored generations of players, including his own daughter , son , daughter in-law & neighbour kids . He delighted in teaching them the correct hold and etiquette, even crafting golf clubs from his old ones to inspire backyard lessons and memories that endure. His love of golf left an enduring mark on his family, who continue to share in the joy of the sport he introduced to them.
Gerry was a passionate outdoorsman and photographer. He cherished great camping trips around Candle Lake and along the Hanson Lake Road drives , always accompanied by a lunch-filled adventure and a camera ready to capture the moment. Whether paddling, fishing, hunting, or bird watching, he approached each activity with curiosity and patience, never missing a shot or the chance to tell a story through his photographs.
This last year Gerry was evacuated to lac du bonnet when he spent quality time with family supervising & building a deck & gazebo with his son.
Family meant everything to him. He was a steadfast presence for his sister(s) Marlene, Betty, and Barb, and a loving father to Debbie (Gord Trueman) and Scott (Karen Fladager). He adored his grandchildren Parker and Laura and his great-grandson Carter Trueman. Friend Signe Cardell . He and his wife Joan shared a life of companionship, love, and mutual respect, and now rest together at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
Gerry’s quiet wisdom, generous heart, and love of home made him a pillar in the lives of all who knew him. He will be missed deeply by his family and friends, but his spirit lives on in the stories, photos, and memories he left behind.
