Fern Kozak

Fern Kozak of Creighton SK passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Flin Flon Personal Care Home at the age of 96. 

Born in the district of Lenvale SK, Fern was one of 6 children who grew up on a happy family farm.  Fern married her husband Bill Kozak on Aug 3, 1951 at Carrot River Valley Lutheran Church, and then moved to Creighton SK.  Sadly, Fern’s husband Bill passed away in 2000, which left Fern living alone for the next 25 years.  One thing that gave Fern great joy was her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Fern loved to have her family over to visit, doing crafts and playing cards with the grandchildren, always letting them win.  She provided all of us with many delicious suppers and baking.  Fern and Bill also loved playing musical instruments and singing, entertaining at many functions as well as the PCH and Northern Lights Manor. Fern loved curling and has curled for many years, becoming a lifetime member.  She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and working teas and belonged to the Creighton Seniors club.

Fern was predeceased by all her siblings as well as her Husband Bill and Granddaughter Courtney.  Left behind is her only son Kurt and wife Judy along with granddaughters Jackie and Sarah and great grandchildren Sydni Morissette, Ryley and Ryker Sproxton, Cash and Chloe Peever and Silver and Casey Alexander.

Fern’s family are all saddened to see her go, but know she has gone as she wanted, joining her beloved husband for a cup of coffee.

A Private Family Graveside Service for Fern Kozak will be held at East Hillside Cemetery in Flin Flon, Manitoba at a later date.
