Edward John Buchberger
August 6, 1929 – March 1, 2024
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Edward John Buchberger on March 1, 2024 at the age of 94 at the Flin Flon Personal Care Home.
Ed was born August 6, 1929 to Anthony and Rose Buchberger in The Pas, Manitoba.
Ed began his working life at a young age with Booth Fisheries. He worked for Booth Fisheries for 28 years. He also worked for The Town of Snow Lake and later for Kelsey School Division in The Pas.
While living in Snow Lake, Ed would meet and marry Mary, the love of his life. They were happily married for 20 years. Mary predeceased Ed in 2002.
After Ed retired, he enjoyed fishing; going for walks and feeding the birds and any small animals that came around his house. Physical disabilities hindered Ed in his later years but he could still enjoy driving his vehicles around The Pas and driving out to the valley to check to see how the crops were doing.
Ed was a caring friend and would do whatever he could to help. He was self-sufficient and could always figure out how to fix something that needed fixing.
Ed spent his final years in the Flin Flon Personal Care Home. The staff treated Ed with kindness and respect and spoke of him with fondness. He enjoyed talking and joking with them and treating them with chocolates.
Ed is survived by Theresa Commodore (sister), step children Barb (Lawrence) Kaczoroski and family; Bob (Valerie) Bakowski and family, and several nieces and nephews.
As per Ed’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
We will miss you Ed.
Life can never stay the same
No matter how we try
Our hands can never stop
The clock of life from ticking by
But love remains unchanging
In the care of sorrowing hearts
For as the love of a life is stilled
The love of memory starts
