Obituary

Clara Anna Young (nee Walker), born in Mozart, SK in 1929, known to friends as Claire and to her family and many others as Amma, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2022 at the Northern Lights Manor in Flin Flon. She is predeceased by the love of her life, Russ, their youngest child, David, and her granddaughter, Dari-Lynn, as well as three older sisters and two brothers. Claire is survived by her youngest brother, Gerald Walker of Uxbridge, ON and five other children; Ron Young (Sherion) of Rockford, SK., Laury Miller (Dennis) of Snow Lake, MB, Karon Watson (Hal) of Georgetown, ON, Michael Young (Cathy) of Edson, AB and Glenn Young (Jody) of Snow Lake, MB.
Claire enjoyed curling, camping, running the concession at the curling rink, and later volunteering at Second Glance and the Senior’s centre, providing everyone with gingersnaps. A hard worker, she preferred to work behind the scenes away from the limelight.
But Claire’s true passion was her grandchildren—caring for them, baking and sewing for them, endless hours of Skip-Bo and tea parties, and housing cupboards full of toys, crafts and dress-up clothes. She had 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The celebration of her life will be planned at a later date. IF friends so desire memorials tributes may be made to the Second Glance in Snow Lake Manitoba.
